Let’s talk about change, people

After more than 20 years of consulting and delivering large-scale transformation programs, we believe that change capability is essential to your core business

Adding an agenda to a meeting invite, top-down and bottom-up cost estimates, never choosing ‘reply all’ on an office-wide email, delivering on time, every time: large and small, this is all learned behaviour that’s become second nature

Change is a part of every business, and it never stops. How we plan for it, manage it and respond to it defines us.

We believe change behaviours should be as habitual as checking your emails in the morning and logging off your computer at night.

With that in mind, we've created the kind of resources we wished we’d had on all our previous engagements to help bring our clients and colleagues on the journey.

And we’re not talking about thousands of templates for a change practitioner to tick off one by one. We’re talking simple, practical stuff that anyone can use to understand core change and transformation concepts, get everyone on the same page, practise actual skills, then build the habits that will make change just…business as usual.

Why are we doing this?

We've worked on too many projects and implementations where change is critical to success…but not on the critical path

We’re tired of last-minute ‘change management’. Communications via mass email over promise and invariably under deliver. There might even be some kind of slogan. There’s definitely a belated lunch-and-learn session. Eventually, training is arranged but it’s not clear who should attend. Meanwhile, one or two ‘change’ people earnestly and impossibly try to turn the mass of an entire business. Everyone's stressed and go-live is only 12 weeks away. Sound familiar?

  • We believe everyone needs a grasp of the fundamentals: because nobody is comfortable with something they don't understand

  • We believe in an evidence-based approach: pseudo-science, folklore and ‘cure all’ models have no place in modern change

  • We don't believe change resistance is a bad thing: we see confusion, uncertainty, ambivalence…and that’s an opportunity

  • We believe in small, incremental nudges that permeate the whole organisation, all the time: not just as part of a project or program

  • We believe in consistently tying it back to the bigger picture: why you are you doing this, and why you have chosen to do it now

Most importantly, we believe you can lead your own change.

Our values

Capability: We want this to be core to how you operate.
Don’t outsource your change. Own it. Drive it. It’s your organisation, it’s your vision and they are your people. We’re here to help educate, inform and occasionally advise.

Self-sufficiency: We want you to manage on your own.
We won’t insert ourselves centre stage. This is your show and you will only see us if you need help with a specific problem, or if you’ve bought a new module from us as part of your capability journey. Live long and prosper!

Simplicity: We want anyone to be able to use our products.
We’re distilling complex topics down to their bare bones to make them as approachable and applicable as possible for a time poor audience. It’s the lessons learned, reflections and leading practice we’ve built up over the last 20 years. That’ll be sufficient in most cases.

Transparency: We want you to know us better
We believe in ‘what you see is what you get’, so if you have questions or aren’t sure, please book some time with us. We’ve got a lot to offer, so we’re happy to consider ‘off menu’ options and bespoke services for you. That said, if we don’t think we’re the best people for the job, we’ll refer you to other partners who can better service your needs.

Integrity: We want to build a better world
As a small business, we try to operate as ethically as possible. Where it’s in our power, we won’t use products from corporations (including their social media and messaging applications) that we feel discriminate against, or marginalise members of the community, or engender ill-will.

Partnership: We love our customers!
We believe wholeheartedly that we’re in this together. Your success is our success. If we don’t dream the same dream and want the same thing, we’re probably not a good fit. But we sincerely hope this is the beginning of a beautiful friendship.
